World’s first L-VDR (Light Voyage Data Recorder)

We have very recently launched a new member of our highly recognized VDR family named the L-VDR (Light VDR). The DM200 L-VDR is basically a DM200 S-VDR but without the capsule.

The target for our L-VDR is the huge amount of vessels not requiring an S-VDR or VDR but which still want the benefit of or have the need for recording and storing vital information about its voyage in a well protected environment for potential later use.

The L-VDR can record the same information and connect to the same sensors as an S-VDR. The voyage data will be recorded on the internal recording medium only as there is no capsule connected to the L-VDR. Data can be retrieved to an ordinary PC on a regular basis to store data for even longer periods of time and subsequent for playback and analysis.

So, the L-VDR is an extremely efficient documentation tool based on full type approved ruggedized VDR technology including the same well proven software.

The L-VDR is very compact, easy to install and service. In addition it will be very competitively priced. The DM200 L-VDR brochure is also available now.


Should it be of use later on to upgrade the L-VDR to a full blown type approved S-VDR or even VDR then it can be done with very little effort. In addition any future upgrade of the S-VDR/VDR software can also be directly incorporated in the L-VDR.
